México: Red por una Política Fiscal Feminista

The Network for a Feminist Fiscal Policy aims to influence the Mexican state’s fiscal policy by integrating a gender, feminist, and intercultural perspective. It seeks to incorporate the fiscal component into key agendas, such as the eradication of gender-based violence, the development of care policies, and the guarantee of economic, social, cultural, and agrarian rights for women in Mexico. The focus is on dignifying the work and lives of women in all their diversities, promoting their autonomy and decision-making capacity. The Network also recognizes social organization forms, especially those linked to the ethnic and cultural identity of women. Additionally, it aims to place on the public agenda the need for public resource collection and the stages of the budgetary cycle to consider the various gaps faced by women in Mexico, ensuring that fiscal policy helps reduce these inequalities rather than deepening them.

Through our participation in the FON project, we aim to develop a common diagnosis of the fiscal policy situation in Mexico from a gender perspective. Following this diagnosis, we will create strong and politically viable recommendations aimed at incorporating a gender perspective throughout the entire cycle of public policy development. Ultimately, we hope to influence the implementation of the collaboratively developed recommendations across various timeframes: immediate, short-term, and medium-term.
