The Sex Workers Network (SWN) is a national platform uniting 30 member organizations led by sex workers from diverse localities across Bangladesh. SWN aims to empower its member organizations by enhancing leadership skills and advocating for the human rights of sex workers, regardless of gender. The network collaborates with community leaders and the media to raise awareness about the rights of sex workers and addresses critical issues like evictions from brothels and violence from law enforcement agencies. On a national level, SWN advocates for the inclusion of sex workers in the Government of Bangladesh’s social safety net programs to ensure a discrimination-free life for them and their children.

The project focuses on strengthening the Sex Workers Network’s capacity to play a more effective role, including:

  • Empowering local sex worker organizations through advocacy.
  • Facilitating access to government and non-governmental resources via networking.
  • Establishing strong coordination with service providers.
  • Advocating to prevent violence against sex workers.
