The Women’s Education Centre (WERC) was founded in 1982 by feminist researchers and activists to address women’s status in the country and provide resources for their liberation. Its objectives include increasing awareness, improving women’s access to resources, and enhancing their participation in economic, political, and social life. WERC envisions a gender-equal society where women’s rights and aspirations are recognized, and its mission focuses on achieving gender justice through education, research, and advocacy using feminist intersectional approaches. The current project aims to strengthen women’s voices and awareness of feminist issues while seeking core funding to sustain and revitalize established networks that support WERC’s ongoing activities.
