FON at FfD4: Rethinking Partnerships: Feminist and Inclusive Financing

We are pleased to invite you to a high-level side event co-sponsored by the Government of France as part of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4):

“Rethinking Partnerships: Feminist and Inclusive Financing in a Shifting Global Architecture”

🗓️1st July 2025 at 10am

📍 Sevilla, Spain – Novotel Sevilla in the Galia Business Center – Av. Eduardo Dato, 71 Nº, 41005 Sevilla, Espagne

This timely conversation brings together governments, feminist civil society leaders, and private sector actors to explore bold and coordinated responses to the current shifts in global financial architecture—particularly as they relate to feminist and inclusive financing models.

We are honored to welcome Mr. Thani Mohamed Soilihi, Minister Delegate for Francophonie and International Partnerships, who will deliver opening remarks, setting the tone on France’s commitment to feminist diplomacy and innovative financing for gender equality through initiatives such as the French Support Fund for Feminist Organizations (FSOF).

The event will feature contributions from:

  • Thomas Melonio, Executive Director of the Innovation and Research at Agence Française de Développement (AFD)
  • Feminist grassroots leaders from Latin America, Africa, and Asia
  • Representatives of international organisations like IPPF, CREA, CARE France and other feminist intermediary funds

This dialogue will contribute to shaping joint policy proposals that embed gender justice, local ownership, and intersectionality into the reform of international financing systems.

We would be honored by your presence and participation in this important discussion.

Why was this discussion necessary?

Feminist Opportunities Now (FON) Project

FON contributes to the eradication of gender-based violence worldwide through flexible funding. The Feminist Opportunities Now (FON) project aims to strengthen feminist movements by providing grants, particularly to small, unregistered organizations. With a budget of 7 million euros, FON also offers long-term mentoring and tailored training. Additionally, the project includes an action-research component to ensure the expansion and sustainability of these approaches.
