Webinar on Protection Mechanisms for Human Rights Defenders

Human rights defenders, especially women’s rights defenders, face various threats such as physical and verbal attacks, defamation, arbitrary arrests and political or economic pressure. These dangers aim to discourage them in their fight for gender equality, sexual and reproductive rights and against sexual and gender-based violences among other things.

In this context, the Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders (an FIDH-OMCT partnership) will be organising an online workshop to present the support available to human rights defenders, with focus on women’s and LGBTQ+ rights defenders through the Observatory and other existing mechanisms.
