The African Sex Worker Alliance (ASWA) is a pan-African alliance of sex worker–led organizations committed to amplifying collective voices, strengthening leadership, and advancing the health, human rights, and dignity of sex workers in all their diversity across Africa.
Established in February 2009 with founding members from 10 African countries, ASWA has grown into a vibrant and inclusive network of sex workers and allied partners working to advance social and economic justice for sex workers on the continent.
ASWA envisions a world in which sex work is decriminalized, recognized, respected, and free from stigma and discrimination. Through sustained organizing and movement-building, ASWA now brings together more than 150 member organizations across 38 African countries.
