Aquelarre benefits women, girls, boys, adolescents and sexual and gender dissidents from ethnic, rural and/or urban communities in different areas of Cauca.
Aquelarre’s work is linked to the fight against gender violence (GV), justice, and gender equality through:
– Develop strategies to counter stories of discrimination and hate through dialogue and play.
– Focus on affective relationships, understanding violence as a complex network, thus contributing to transforming the social dynamics that perpetuate gender violence.
– Creation of play materials and workshops that address gender violence in everyday life, such as the unequal distribution of care work, gender roles and stereotypes, among others.
– Intersectional approach, broadening the understanding of gender violence and human rights.
– To create spaces for dialogue and reflection that promote the recognition of diversity and the transformation of social realities, fostering respect for identities, the autonomy of bodies and the promotion and defense of the rights of women, young people and gender dissidents.
