Founded in 2008 by HIV-positive women in Bangladesh, Ashar Prodeep (AP) is the country’s first organization dedicated to this community. Initially a support network for safety and knowledge sharing, it registered in 2010 and has since been crucial in combating stigma and prejudice against women living with HIV (WLHIV). AP advocates for their treatment rights and those of their children, while actively working to empower and increase their participation in Bangladesh.

By providing vital psycho-social counseling, legal assistance, and medical care, Ashar Prodeep aims to improve the well-being and quality of life of WLHIV, fostering a community free from discrimination. Their vision is a dignified, stigma-free life for WLHIV, and their mission encompasses improving their quality of life, ensuring their rights, empowering them, and contributing to HIV prevention efforts.
