Established in 1984, the Association des Femmes Juristes de Côte d’Ivoire (AFJCI) is governed by Law No. 60-315 of 21 September 1960 relating to associations and obtained its registration receipt in 1986 under number 31/INT/AT/AG/3, published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Issue No. 19 of 29 May 1986.
AFJCI is a non-political, non-religious association and holds observer status with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, registered under number 352.
Its vision is to ensure that respect for the fundamental rights of the family, women, and children, as well as access to law and justice, becomes a reality for all in Côte d’Ivoire.
AFJCI’s mission is to promote human rights, good governance, democracy, and peace in order to establish fair justice, combat all forms of discrimination, and improve the status of women and girls.
