Delete Nothing was co-founded by three Sri Lankan queer feminists in 2017. The organization’s core objectives encompass providing both quantitative and qualitative trends data on online gender-based violence (GBV) to facilitate the development of advocacy plans and wider dissemination. Their initiative also serves as a platform utilized by other organizations and activists focused on addressing online GBV, aiding in documentation and case management processes. Additionally, Delete Nothing aims to be an easily accessible space for individuals affected by online GBV, offering trilingual resources and a directory of available support from various stakeholders such as organizations, activists, schools, law-makers, and others in Sri Lanka. Through their work, they aim to document instances of online GBV to build an evidence bank for advocating stronger social and legal responses from the government. Furthermore, through their intervention, they support social media platforms by providing resources in all three local languages, fostering awareness and education on gender-based violence in the country.
