The Uva Human Resources Development Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2002. Operating both independently and as part of a network of civil organizations, the foundation is guided by its vision of fostering a liveable environment with respect and dignity for the citizens of Uva Province.

Its mission is to act as an intermediary organization to ensure the fair and transparent distribution of development benefits while uniting civil organizations across the province.

The foundation’s current project focuses on addressing domestic violence, violence against women, and drug addiction in marginalized communities living in the tea estates of the Passara Divisional Secretariat in Badulla district. These communities face multiple vulnerabilities, including limited access to support services, social stigma, and economic hardship, making targeted interventions crucial.

Key project activities include capacity-building workshops for community leaders and volunteers, awareness campaigns to challenge social norms that perpetuate violence, and creating safe spaces for affected individuals to seek support.
