Venasa, works to support the transgender and gender non-conforming communities in Sri Lanka. The organization is dedicated to defending and enhancing the human rights situation of transgender and gender non-confirming individuals with the goal of improving their social, legal, and political recognition. Venesa also strives to enhance access to crucial services, including legal and health services, counseling and safe housing facilities for the transgender and gender non-conforming community. Furthermore, they also conduct sensitizations for the Health Care providers and training sessions for government officials at Divisional and District Secretariats, as well as Grama Niladhari officers, to better serve the transgender communities.
