Founded in 2011 by young women, Bangladesh’s WADA addresses critical issues faced by marginalized communities in the neglected south coastal zone, particularly high rates of violence against women and girls. As a women’s rights organization, WADA empowers underrepresented groups through diverse development initiatives. A FON-funded project in Bagerhat focuses on empowering 625 exploited women shrimp farm workers by building their skills, advocating for their rights, and engaging the community for systemic change in areas like fair labor and gender equality.
